Friday August 17, 2018 my Husband and I went to Dana Farber in Boston to meet with the Multiple Myeloma ~ MGUS specialist. After reviewing my PtScan and Labs she has diagnosed me with Multiple Myeloma. To say I am in shock is an understatement. I never imagine when I was diagnosed with MGUS January 2016 that it would had progressed to Plasmacytoma March 2018 and now full blown Multiple Myeloma.
We are both trying to come to terms with this diagnosis. I will be having two Medical Oncologist over seeing my treatment. Both Dana Farber Boston and Milford Massachusetts.
I can not have radiation for the new Bone Lesion. I have to have Chemotherapy. We met with the Milford Oncologist to discuss the Chemo on August 23, 2018. I will be making an update video about the Chemo in a couple of weeks.
I am very scared. There is not a cure for this Cancer. The hope is to knock down lots of these cancer cells and get me into remission.
I am very numb,, I have only shed a few tears. I don’t know what I would do without my amazing Husband and Son. They are my rock. I am also blessed to have so many friends looking out after both Chris and I.
I want to thank all of you for your love and support.

Monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) is a condition in which an abnormal protein — known as monoclonal protein or M protein — is in your blood. The protein is produced in a type of white blood cell (plasma cells) in your bone marrow.
MGUS usually causes no problems. But sometimes it can progress over years to other disorders, including some forms of blood cancer.
It’s important to have regular checkups to closely monitor monoclonal gammopathy so that if it does progress, you get earlier treatment. If there’s no disease progression, MGUS doesn’t require treatment.
