‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ star John Wesley dies at 72 after long battle with cancer
Who won an Atlas Award for Best Supporting Actor, passed away at the age of 72. He was known for his roles in films such as ‘Stop’ (2001),?Or My Mom Will Shoot’ (1999), and multiple myeloma (2000-2003). He also starred in several productions as the Artistic and Producing Director of Southern California Black Repertory Company. His performances led to an invitation from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, where he performed with Lillian Hellman
Was most recently involved with a production of ‘Stick Fly’, which won the Los Angeles Ovation Award for Best Ensemble. Further, Wesley had served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war and was honorably discharged prior to his career as an actor. He also appeared on several episodes of Jamie Foxx’s “Hill Street Blues” and “JAG” (In the Heat of the Night). His last short film saw him receive an award for best actor from the Hollywood Women’s Film Festival.
